Blue Pig Tavern at Congress Hall

Where Is It? At famous old Congress Hall.

Why Should I Go?  Feast on signature American tavern fare, while enjoying the simple pleasure of a meal prepared from scratch. The menu utilizes local seafood plus fruits, veggies, eggs and Berkshire pig from Beach Plum Farm, located on an idyllic 62-acre sprawl less than two miles away, in West Cape May.

On sunny days, the Blue Pig Tavern’s lush garden patio is a great spot to start your day with a breakfast of, say, the signature Eggs Blackstone, one of the healthy bowls (acai and overnight oats are among the highlights) or one of the famous Breakfast Skillets — the Blue Pig Tavern Skillet combines hash brown casserole, fried eggs, red peppers, onions, scallions and chorizo for a spicy kick. Sipping a farm-fresh juice from Beach Plum will boost your vitamin intake as well as your mood — beets and carrots boast seriously therapeutic benefits. Later in the day, linger over lunch as you sip a cool drink, people-watch and indulge in classic American comfort food.

Inside, each of the Blue Pig’s dining areas provide a different mood. One has an airy garden feel with a large skylight. The second evokes a classic tavern, with vintage-style mirrors. Here, large banquettes lend a warm, cozy feel. There is also a beautiful enclosed porch in case it’s a little too chilly for the garden patio. On crisp or chilly evenings in spring, fall or winter, the magnificent fireplace in the Blue Pig Tavern comes alive.
