Cape Atlantic Book Company

Where Is It? In the middle of Washington Street Mall, inside the City Center mall at the top of the escalator.

Why Should I Go? Books and beaches go together like milk and cookies. But, in case the sun doesn’t shine every day, books and rocking chairs on rainy day porches go great, too! Point is, your vacation isn’t complete without a good read. And if you enjoy Cape May year round, Cape Atlantic is open! This independently owned and operated business sells fiction and nonfiction, mystery and romance, and books for all ages. A plethora of local authors and artists line the shelves. You can pick up a copy of Sherlock Holmes in Cape May, written by local high school history teacher Steve Leadley, while Weird NJ’s Guide to New Jersey will help you on your quest for all things quirky in the state. The store also stocks Exit Zero Publishing titles.

Insider Tip: They have limited space, but make up for it in customer service. If you’re looking for a title, and can’t find it, they will do the looking for you. Call the shop, tell them the title and author, and they will get it shipped to Cape May.
