Lokal Hotel
Where Is It? In Cape May’s Historic District, a stone’s throw from the beautiful beachfront.
Why Should I Stay There? There’s nothing else like it! This micro beach resort, open year-round, will catch your eye with its memorable exterior (wood siding charred using an ancient Japanese technique) and beautiful modern-rustic interiors.
The Lokal offers eight rooms, split between studios and two-bedroom suites. All suites are apartment style with full kitchens, dining, living areas and decks. All rooms are very kid-friendly. Although the beach is just a hop, skip and a jump away, you’ll want to relax in the lounge chairs by Lokal’s heated saltwater pool. Owners Chad and Courtney say it’s their goal to be the first pool open and the last one closed in Cape May each year!
Other amenities include an outdoor cooking station, where you can grill by the pool and mix your craft cocktails. And when you’re ready to hit the beach, you’re all hooked up! Lokal supply mobile beach kits (from Yeti coolers to towels and buckets/shovels) and they’ll set up your lounge chairs and umbrellas. All you have to do is lie back and chill.
Adding to the vibe of a perfect beach house is the Invisible Service at Lokal — no front desk, no onsite staff. The best service is at your fingertips, from automated check-in to inroom iPads with service-driven apps. BUT if you have any specific requirements, they’re only a text away.
Insider Tip: Lokal also operates hotels in Philly’s Old City and Fishtown, along with the adorable A-Frame Cabin on New Jersey’s Maurice River.
