Tea by the Sea

Where Is It? On West Perry, a short walk from downtown Cape May.

Why Should I Go? You’ve heard of superfoods — tea is a superdrink! Drinking it can help prevent cancer and heart attacks, due to its concentration of antioxidants. Some scientists believes it can help fight Alzheimer’s and could be beneficial to people with Type 2 diabetes.

Bonus: There are so many ways to enjoy it, from a pitcher of iced tea in the summer, or infused with honey as a warm-up in winter, or black tea served with milk, the way the British like it (served with a chocolate cookie!). When you’re in Cape May, Tea by the Sea is the place to go. You’ll find books on tea, recipes, new flavors and old favorites — plus dessert teas like Key Lime and Island Coconut.

But there’s a lot more than tea. Enjoy a selection of Keepers of the Light candles, cards and books.

Insider Tip: Visit during the holidays, particularly if you’re a fan of wassail, which they carry at that time. Please note, Tea by the Sea does not serve tea. You’ll do the brewing at home.
