The Original Fudge Kitchen

Where Is It? Washington Street Mall and on the Promenade, near Convention Hall.

Why Should I Go? Their motto is “Simply the Best” for a reason. Chances are good that you won’t get past the front door without trying a piece of something special. Stroll inside and soak in the smells of freshly whipped fudge, and feast your eyes on an incredible range of colorful candies and irresistible chocolates.

The fudge is whipped right here by expert candy makers and is the same recipe that’s been used for more than 70 years.

Picking out favorite candies isn’t easy, what with chocolate-covered strawberries, pretzels, jumbo coconut macaroons, licorice allsorts (still Joe’s favorite), chocolate truffles, caramel popcorn, malt balls, almond clusters, and more to choose from. There are seven stores along the South Jersey coast in case you’re in the mood for a day trip!

Insider Tip: They’re open every day of the year, rain or shine. Shop online at fudgekitchens.com and friend them on Facebook — @FudgeKitchens.
